FORM, FACES & SPACES,
figuratively speaking!
As people, uniquely different, yet profoundly the same, this exhibit will engage us in that age old exploration of “Who am I? and “What does it mean to be human?” The many faces of our humanity, the human form, the spaces we inhabit and fill with our vitality and verve - these are the very amulets of our existence on this earth when all else is stripped away.
From the personal to the iconic pieces, such as the chalk pastels of Degas’ ballet dancers, Karsh’s intense photographic portraits, and the gently smiling Mona Lisa, we can connect as humans across decades, generations, eras, centuries, and epochs.
This is a testament to and celebration of our fascination with the human face and form and how we inhabit our spaces, pursue our daily lives, and engage together in community.
Portraiture & POV
From the “face that launched a thousand ships” to the posed family vignettes in albums, or the candid snaps with the Kodak Brownies, to the myriads of selfies of today’s generations, these faces speak volumes both as subject and our point of view.
